I'll continue with posts about our home next week but for now I figured I'd write a post about my favorite cosmetic products. I tend to prefer the same few brands when it comes to clothes and also with cosmetics. With The Body Shop I have the longest customer relationship as I started using their products as a preteen already as back then, they were one of the only stores that fought against animal testing. I like to try new products and even brands (now that animal testing is banned by EU) but only few seem to stick with me, so, here are my favorites!
The Body Shop's liquid exfoliator is the best one I've tried and I use it weekly. The oil based cleanser by Loccitane is great when in a hurry but in daily use it's too greasy. I couldn't find this exact product but I found a similar one. Also Shu Uemura has these kinds of cleansing oils.
Okay, these Masque Bar products are my favorites because they look pretty. No cosmetic can work miracles so if they product works and it looks/smells nice, then that's already a great product in my opinion.
Hair products and moisturizers
The only Maroccan Oil product that I like is this heat protection spray.I spray my hair with it before curling my hair and it keeps the curls, I don't even add hairspray. It also, hopefully, protects the hair from the heat. The body butters from The Body Shop are classics, my favorites are the Argan Oil and Mango.
I spent some time researching Olaplex on google when it first arrived as I'm always sceptical with big promises. As I'm not a chemist, I won't get into this, but if you're interested, here's one person's view on it . I don't use other products that end with plex, as Olaplex is protected by a patent and these similar products may have similar effects... or not.
I keep theseeye patches in the fridge and put them on if I haven't slept well and want to look more awake.
This isn't cosmetics per se but the hairbrush by Mason Pearsonin is the only one I use anymore. For a lipbalm, which I'm totally addicted to, I only use Lipsmackers. They come in all kinds of flavors, some are quite nostalgic too...
When, rarely, I make a pedicure at home I use The Body Shop's peppermint products. They smell great and the spray is really handy in the summer.
I have two favorite make up products and they are eyelash curler by Shu Uemura and the Dior Show mascara. If you can't find Shu Uemura Shiseido is the next best things. I started using Clinique eye liner when I got allergic to the glue used in lash extensions and for a while my eyes were sensitive to almost all make up, except for Clinique's.
I hope these ideas came in handy!
