Our Summer in Pictures

I can't say that I have a favorite season. I lived in places for years that didn't have four seasons so that may be one of the reasons why I'm always so excited when the season changes. Like right now, I'm so excited that fall is coming, though this year it's extra great as it means that the baby will be born soon!

I figured that this would be a nice way of showing a little bit what we did this summer and I tried to choose mainly pictures that I hadn't already shown you on Instagram or on previous blog posts. So here's a little peek to our summer.

Washing rugs at the "Mattolaituri" is our annual tradition though this year I replaced my reward wine with ice cream - from Helsingin Jäätelötehdas, of course!

You can find more pictures of our Midsummer celebration here, we spent the Midsummer in the city with a group of friends. An important midsummer tradition for us is the making of the anadems and I think we're getting better at it each year.

We started our summer vacation with a night at a hotel nearby and we ended up having several short hotel vacations during our vacation. It was such a fun way to get out of the house without having to do long trips. The following pictures were taken at different hotels during summer.

Heat wave while pregnant was always a good enough excuse to head to the beach or pool and this summer was hot! The picture below is from Eiran ranta which is my favorite beach in Helsinki.

We had a gender reveal picnic in Kaivopuisto on the day of the annual Plane Show. We all dressed in white, brought some food and drinks and Eerikki and I had bought confetti cannons with blue confetti. Me, Eerikki and my big sister already knew the gender but it was a surprise for the rest.

At the end of the summer we traveled to Italy for my cousin's daughter's and our friend's wedding in Tuscany. It was Eerikki birthday while we were in Italy and we celebrated him in Rome.

In the next picture we're at our friend's summer cabin, also an annual tradition. We both love all kinds of animals but I think Mango-dog is Eerikki's favorite after our own little Peppi...

Kesäkino Engel is also a must each summer and this year was no exception.
