Bride's accessories

Collaboration with Gaura Pearls

Last time we looked at the bridal party's hairdos, now we get to the bride's accessories.

It was my intention to get a bag for the wedding, I wanted a white leather bumbag but I couldn't find one that I really liked. In the end, I realized I didn't need one at all so I ended up going without.

I had two pairs of shoes. My main pair was from Christian Louboutin. I wore those at the ceremony and for the first part of the wedding. My second pair was Michael Kors's wedge heel sneakers. I might have mentioned this before, but remember that if your other pair has some heel, make sure the other pair has too, otherwise your dress won't be the right length for both pairs of shoes.

I spent quite a long time looking for the sneakers but once I found these I just loved them. The small golden details were perfect as one of our theme colors was gold and I loved the nets on the sides of the shoes, they reminded me of tennis somehow. I don't know if tennis theme screams wedding but can't the bride wear exactly what she wants :D

My mom made my garter and it was also my something blue. Rhinestones, lace, pearls and feathers all in one garter but somehow it just worked!

I wasn't sure about which earrings to wear until I found the perfect ones from Gaura Pearls. The beautiful pearl earrings were just what I'd been looking for and I knew immediately that these are my wedding earrings. I usually wear very simple earrings and apart from my engagement and now wedding rings I don't wear any other jewelry so I loved the idea of having nice earrings at the wedding. If you don't already own the perfect jewelry for the wedding they are definitely something to splurge on. They can last for generations and every time you wear them, they'll remind you of your wedding day.

My necklace was my something borrowed. It was my friend's pearl necklace, I should probably return it soon, by the way :D I wasn't sure which necklace to wear until I went to my last dress fitting and tried it on and everyone there immediately said that's the one you should wear, it went perfectly with the dress. The dress wasn't even close to ready at that point, but we'll get to that later...

My veil was made by my mom and my little sister has already said she wants it for her wedding too :D The veil had a lace ribbon going around the veil starting from about the collarbone and the train had large lace decorations. My hairdresser also loved the attachment mechanism my mom had made.

My perfume was Lanvin's Marry me, I eventually managed to find a body wash and lotion to match too.

My final accessory was a jacket, also made by my mom. I haven't been able to find a picture with a hood on, so I took one today so you can see what it looks like.

I've added a SHOP page on the blog where I'm putting stuff from our wedding for sale or rent. Take a look if it has just what you had been looking for for your event.
