Wedding Madness?

I couldn’t sleep last night. There was one thought in particular that kept occupying my mind and in the end I had to give up, get out of bed and test the idea in my head. This was at 3.30am. What was keeping me awake was your run-of-the-mill question of whether light yellow fake roses can be painted peach with furniture paint mixed with water?
I’ve mentioned before that I have habit of obsessing over details most people wouldn’t care about. Ever since these roses arrived, I’ve been thinking that they are the wrong color, even though they go with our theme colors. So last night, I figured I might have come up with a solution to this problem and I just couldn’t sleep until I knew if it would work out.
Sure, I felt a bit like a crazy person painting fake roses with furniture paint at 4am. And yes, I realized I resembled the Queen of Hearts from Alice in the Wonderland, and no, I don’t think that’s a good sign. 😀 However, the conclusion was that you CAN paint fake roses with furniture paint and water and they look so much better now! I don’t know why it is that the best ideas often come to mind in the middle of the night.
I wanted to share this with you in case there are others there secretly painting fake roses in the dead of night. Here’s how I approach this: before the wedding I’m going to have fun honing details and getting creative with my solutions. On the wedding day, however, I’ll remember that good enough is just perfect and won’t worry about any little detail, but just enjoy the day. 🙂
